| Introduction | Marvin Chew is a Singapore-based Malaysian artist who practices art full time. As the current Vice President of the Singapore Watercolor Society, Marvin is actively involved in many local/international exhibitions and competitions. A naturalist, he is often seen sketching and painting en plein air. Since 2008, Marvin has been teaching art, and specializes in landscape as well as street scenes watercolor paintings. Marvin largely paints in semi-realistic, impressionist style. The transparent watercolor that imbues the energy of Chinese calligraphy highlights the play of lights, shades and the spontaneous, bold brushstrokes in many of his works. |
