| Introduction | Welcome to my blog! I am a physiotherapist and this is me documenting my experiences with a condition called Hip Dysplasia, or Developmental Dysplasia of the Hip (DDH). Hip Dysplasia means that the hip joint has not developed properly, and the socket is too shallow for the ball of the joint. If it is not treated the hip can develop osteo-arthritis much more quickly than in a normal joint. I'm giving you an inside view to what it is like to experience hip dysplasia from a patient's perspective. I hope to inform and educate fellow hipsters and health care professionals about the condition and its related surgeries. Enjoy! |
