About me

Occupation Decorator/Creator
Location Central Florida, United States
Introduction I am an eighty-three year old wood frame cottage. Just under one thousand square feet, I have "good bones" and "so very much potential". Through the years, I haven't always had the best of care but I have a family now who cares very much, about very many things. Already, I look and feel better. I know time is passing, but I carry it well.
Interests To live up to my moniker, Winsome Cottage, to be attractive and appealing in appearance and character. Making my corner of the world lovely, comfortable and welcoming to family, friends, neighbors, and others I have yet to meet.
Favorite Movies The book Mr. Blandings Build His Dream House by Eric Hodgins, was published in 1946. It is a good movie, with Cary Grant and Myrna Loy. Later the story was remade with the title The Money Pit, with Tom Hanks and Shelly Long. I do not look like the illustrations in the book, and certainly not like the houses pictured in the movies. But I have been told I have "lots of charm and am "winsome", of which I was named. it is an old fashioned term, but then I am a bit old fashioned, not at all like the new subdivision homes which surround me.
Favorite Music The nature conservancy behind my property provides a concert daily. Early in the morning, the orchestra begins with the melodic sounds of birds of all varieties. As the day passes, the sounds grow more intense. Nightfall can bring a cacophony from the frogs in the pond, especially after the rain.
Favorite Books Already mentioned was Mr. Blandings Build His Dream House. Alexandra Stoddard's, Living A Beautiful Life, is a favored one about here. All kinds of design and DIY seem to abound along with histories and mysteries. There must be reasons for that. I do have alot of history, and there is an aire of mystery about me I have heard. Most often, a tiny little booklet called My Heart-Christ's Home by Robert Boyd Munger is on the table next to the Mrs. chair, along with a bigger book called Bible. They both are important to her and, therefore, to me.

How can I make a difference today.
