| Introduction | I'm slightly conservative, but not conservative enough for my conservative friends. I envy true liberals for their faith in humanity, but I could never be like them. In short, I am a lost person on the political landscape, mocked by many. But I refuse to be a "base" person. Therefore, I am neither part of anyone's "base" nor a member of their party; nor am I an "enemy" to anyone's politics. I reject those of you who insist upon indiscriminately calling another human being, another soul, particularly another American, your "enemy." During calm moments, when we write from the intellect, we can and should be more civil. I'm an innovator of ideas; I know I am, and I'm willing to reach across the aisle to the "other side" and ask them to help me bring my own flock back to a more grounded position and stop this wretched country from starving its engine of wealth, strength, and happiness. I'm an English teacher, football coach, track and field coach, retired in 2007 from thirty-two years of full-time work. I still teach part time, and I'm enjoying it much more now than ever before. I'm also selling (and even giving away) some of my materials on TeachersPayTeachers. |
