| Introduction | Eleanor Bates Dunn is a retired reporter/broadcaster/professional communicator who lives and pays property tax in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. I am a small-c conservative. Pitchforks were used back in the day by overtaxed peasants to turf their political masters out of office. First 20 years of my professional career-- worked as reporter, copy editor and sometimes columnist at The Ottawa Citizen; reporter at CJOH-TV; reporter/editor at Ottawa TODAY; weekly freelance commentator on CBO's All In A Day; freelance columnist with Sunday Herald and Ottawa SUN. Covered all beats including City Hall and Parliament Hill. Next 23 years spent pursuing interest in industrial relations, working on both the union and management sides in the hospitality industry, then on management side in health care. Took early retirement when Ottawa hospitals were merged. |
