IntroductionI am a returning student, after 25 years away from academia, my brain needs excercise, and I thirst for knowledge. I've been a contractor for longer than I've been anything else, and I'm burned out. I play ice hockey for a stress reliever, but I also really enjoy competition so it gets a little stressful at times, big games, most-win situations, etc. I also like the physical nature of the game and enjoy the banging and nastiness that can sometimes occur. I wish for a world of peace, for quiet evenings around the firepit with friends and family, for greater patience, both from within myself, and in the world. I seek to find in people, love for their Savior and, when that love is not evident, to plant a seed. In those whom I meet who are struggling, I look for ways to help them turn inward, to find their Saviors' love within themselves, only to help them turn outward to serve others.
InterestsMusic, esp. hard rock/ new rock, ice hockey, writing, learning, listening, reading, helping others
Favorite moviesIndependence Day, 50 first dates, Gladiator, Sleepless in Seattle. Is that a broad enough spectrum? lol. I don't have a favorite genre, and I can sit down and watch the most inane thing there is on the tube or big screen, and find merit in it. I don't spend too much time on the couch, however, and the only thing I really watch on TV anymore is hockey (did I already say that I love hockey?).
Favorite musicHARD ROCK, AC/DC, Chevelle, Audioslave,Five Finger Death Punch, Twelve Stones, Saving Abel, Avenged Sevenfold, Atreyu, Alter Bridge, Mettalica, I could go on and on. Sometimes I wish the singer would shut up, because it is the instrumentation that I enjoy the most, so that probably explains how I can handle "ALL THAT NOISE", as my father called it. On the other hand, I love to sing the hymns in church, to hear someone really PLAY the piano, not just bang the keys.
Favorite booksScriptures, of course, Tolkien, La'Amour, Grisham, Kellerman, Michener, Patterson, DeMille, oh and James Herriot, I loved those books!

Which is more important to you and why: flexibility or expandability?

Flexibility sort of implies the ability to stretch, to bend or adjust. Not that there is anything bad about being flexible, but I would say that expandability is far more important. If I study a new topic of interest, for instance, I can expand my abilities, my understanding, my capacities. I can GROW and, to me, THAT is the essence of life.
