| Introduction | I was a hobbyist and tinkerer from schooldays, graduated to electronics and audio DIY, computer hardware and just enough coding to survive, my education took long and circuitous routes ending up with an English Literature PG Degree, began my career as a journalist in the Kochi edition of the old Indian Express newspaper, quit after a few years to take up teaching in a college under the University of Kerala, spent a pleasurable thirty years with my dear students and colleagues, retired quite happily in 2008, now reading up what all I had pretended I had read, spending time with my DIY hobby interests, role-playing as the silent Grand Old Man who hoards nuggets of wisdom in our hobby groups, doing some technical writing and web content creation and editing, listening to music, gardening and, of course, grabbing most opportunities to travel ... |
