| Introduction | OK, so my given name is Martha, but I was always called Marti, except my father spelled it Marte (the French spelling for Martha). When I was in junior high and away at church camp, a 16-year-old male camp counselor (cute, of course, to 12-year-old me) told me that "Marte" wasn't pronounced Mar-tee, it was pronounced Mart. So I changed the spelling then and there to Marti. I am now honoring my father, and my wish to take that decision back, by blogging under the spelling "Marte." |
