| Introduction | My journey into the art world began as a child with a love for gluing this...sequins, beads, yarn, glitter, gravel...onto that...wood, cardboard, boxes, cloth and felt. My second love was reading...books, billboards, magazines and cereal boxes...anything with words. Combining these two loves created my dream of becoming a published writer and illustrator. I've read many, many books, joined The Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators, attended conferences and critiques, explored art on the college level, scoured art shows, libraries and galleries...all to gather inspiration and insight. Many years have been spent collecting inspirational words like a literary magpie and developing my own style of art infused with whimsy. I have created two inspirational gift books, Tell Me, Please! and Whimsical Wisdoms, that contain a treasure trove of sayings, proverbs and/or quotations. Both offer encouragement and wisdom, and I am hopeful they will one day find a home with a wonderful publisher. |
