| Introduction | I have attempted to write the histories of some of my favorite radio stations as a youngster growing up in Rhode Island. The histories focus on the years that I listened to Providence radio the most, from 1978 to 1992, although as much information as I could remember or find from other years is also included. There will be more content added as I go through some more old tapes and do more research. Stations include WPRO-FM, WPRO-AM, WSNE, WWBB, various other stations and an article on working at WJMF Radio in Smithfield, RI. Any additions, corrections or comments are appreciated. I am also writing blogs on business establishments in Sarasota FL, Warwick RI and Cranston RI on what they used to be in years past. |
