| Introduction | What does it mean to live well? Some say it's wealth, although that's fallen out of fashion for all but the few and famous. Simplicity is popular, and I've flirted with the idea myself. But I love my creature comforts. When I consider what really gratifies me, it's not glamour but a life lived fully: eating well, an evening with my children or with good friends, time to sit in my favorite chair with a much-anticipated chapter in whatever book has me absorbed at the moment. And then a chance to tell an interested friend about it. This is where I hope to describe to readers about how I've spent a little of my precious free time in a satisfying way, and to give them some ideas of how to make their own lives replete with enjoyment.
