| Introduction | I have had the opportunity to be involved in several interesting things while in college. I graduated high school in 2008 from Plains, Texas and started college at South Plains College (SPC). At SPC I became interested in science and began to do undergraduate research at Texas Tech University (TTU). My fascination with science was honored by the 2010 Outstanding Engineering Physics Student Award. I transferred to TTU in the summer of 2010 and was soon awarded the Outstanding Performance in Organic Chemistry Award. At TTU I continued undergraduate research through the Center for Undergraduate Research (CUR) and Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI).
I became an Intern at NASA’s Johnson Space Center during the spring 2011 semester and soon took my education experience abroad. I have had the opportunity to study abroad at the University of Oxford in the UK and took a faculty led trip to India. I am currently doing undergraduate research in electrical engineering. My future plans are to pursue a career in industry in the field of physics or electrical engineering. I will be finishing up my Bachelors of Science in Physics at TTU this year. |
