| Introduction | I was born at a very young age. My Father was a "Rebel" from Kentucky ... my Mother was the daughter of a hard-working papermaker father and a British-Canadian (Loyalist) mother. Both sides of my family may still have been fighting The Civil War during my childhood ... but I grew up being loved by my Rebel "Mamaw" and my Yankee "Grampie" even if I'm not so sure about "Grandpa" and "Nana" ... Grandpa didn't like anyone, and Nana didn't like anyone from the south. I grew up with a deep appreciation of the culture, cuisine, and lifestyle of both north and south ... Soup beans and cornbread is just as good as Boston baked beans ... and a New England Boiled Dinner is just as yummy as Ham Hocks and Collards! |
