Introduction I've always thought abortion was about a loss of hope among the women who have them and among their families: a loss of hope in themselves and their ability to raise a child without compromising their futures; a loss of hope in their children's futures and their ability to overcome the lasting hardships so often faced by families that choose abortion; a loss of hope in the support they used to receive from a society that now values self-reliance over a public concern for others and the common good; and, most importantly, a loss of hope in God, in the miracle of His ongoing creation and the saving power of His love. Making abortion illegal won't restore that hope and it won't end abortion. Pray instead for an undivided and uncompromising justice that promotes life and liberates women from the tragic choice of abortion. Pray for hope.
