About me

Location Monkey Falls, United Kingdom
Introduction I am a self taught musician, songwriter and producer. I record at home and in various homes largely in the UK and Norway. I have been releasing my music online and honing my skills since 2006. Initially each release was on a song by song basis, but in 2007 I began in earnest to conceive and record complete albums. Since then I have released three albums of original material under the name Demis CousCous (Dog Kill Bird in 2007, The Freemealin' Demis CousCous in 2008 and I Was Prufrock in 2011) and two albums consisting of cover versions of popular songs spanning a 70 year time frame (Twenty Five Golden Grapes in 2007 and Cover Yourself In CousCous in 2010). 2007 also saw the release of the debut side project album with The Mackerelheads entitled I Was A Teenage Mackerelhead. This was followed up in 2010 by the second Mackerelheads album Buster and Dokka. Half of The Mackerelheads now live in Norway so most Mackerelhead sessions take place overseas. There have also been two "imaginary soundtrack albums" recorded with key members of The Mackerelheads. These are The Monkey Western and The Monkey Eastern.
