| Introduction | Gringa Guacha is inspired by but not limited to my experience living in Buenos Aires. I wanted to combine elements of my favorite fashion blogs with personal anecdotes and observations about life in Buenos Aires. The name Gringa Guacha was given to me by a man lifting free weights in the park who I like to think was suffering from a steroid induced rage. As I ran by with my dog, he yelled "Gringa Guacha! Gringo Perro! Go to home Yankee, go to home." While guacha literally means orphan, something tells me he meant the colloquial use of the word which is more akin to (insert insult of choice). No matter its dark origins, Gringa Guacha is now my nickname, used affectionately by my friends here in Buenos Aires. |
