| Introduction | I am a non-profit professional with 12 years of experience in policy-making and NGO organizing at the international level. I have strong interests in the United Nations, civil society and using technology to increase public participation in policy-making. I currently am the program coordinator of a media and democracy program at the Social Science Research Council called "Necessary Knowledge for a Democratic Public Sphere." This program is intended to strengthen the knowledge infrastructure in the media reform field, addressing challenges of coordination and helping build a better culture of collaboration between researchers, advocates, and activists. Much of my work in the past two years has focused around the United Nations' World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) and civil society follow-up to the Millennium Summit and Millennium Development Goals agreed at the United Nations in 2000. |
