Introduction | Pastor Rebecca is an ordained pastor in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). The call to ministry came in her mid-thirties when she felt the need to do something "more" with her life than working in Corporate America. With a bachelor degree in journalism and a Masters in Divinity from Luther Seminary, writing about theological matters is just what comes naturally. Favorite Bible Quote: "Go up to the land flowing with milk and honey. But I will not go with you, because you are a stiff-necked people and I might destroy you on the way." Exodus 33:3. Why? Because it reminds us that God feels the same frustrations we all do from time to time. Second favorite? "This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him." (1 John 4:9) Why? Kind of goes along with the first. The incarnation is God's greatest act of love for humanity, despite His occasional frustration with our sinful sorry behinds - to come to earth, dwell with humanity, and die for our sake. |
