Introduction	Borstal Boy grew up with a healthy distrust of authority figures. As an angry and callow youth it was his opinion that lawyers were either the Man or the Devil, and that he would never apply to law school. His opinion changed when, in a fit of idealism, he decided that law school was a good way to pursue public interest work. As a second year student at the U of T Faculty of Law, his opinion is still changing.
