| Introduction | Welcome to "From Guard to Wife: My Journey in the Shadows of the Justice System." I'm DeAnna, a former correctional officer turned prisoner’s wife. My life took a dramatic turn when I met my husband, Ryan, while working in a prison. Our story is crazy, awkward, and funny, but through it all, we've discovered that we're soul mates, and nothing will tear us apart. This blog is my way of sharing our journey, offering support to others, and raising awareness about the justice system. I waited for Ryan to come home once already, but after he relapsed, we both got arrested. Now, he's serving more time, and I'm left to fight my charges, navigate life without him, and face the judgment of the world.
