| Introduction | Dr. George Hatzigiannis studied for his DMD at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine, where he earned a number of honors, including the American Academy of Orofacial Pain Senior Dental Student Award. Subsequently, Dr. George Hatzigiannis received his MD from the University of Connecticut and completed residencies in general surgery and oral and maxillofacial surgery at the UConn Health Center.
After completing his postdoctoral work, Dr. George Hatzigiannis become the North Shore representative for the Massachusetts Dental Society Council on Access, Prevention, and Interpersonal Relations. He spent four years providing oral surgery services through a private practice and a year with Small Smiles Dental Centers. An expert on oral and maxillofacial surgery, Dr. Hatzigiannis has given lectures across the country and in Puerto Rico. Some of the topics he has covered include fibro-osseous disorders, bone grafting, sedation in dentistry, and orthognathic surgery. He has also published research articles in the Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, the Journal of Biomedical Materials Research, and the Journal of Catalysis. |
