Introduction	I was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio, and always had dreams of moving to New York City. I originally aspired to be a writer for the New York Times, or a novelist. I delayed my plans and ended up waiting tables in my hometown when I learned of the amazing opportunities in the world of beauty, particularly, the world of Aveda. I checked out the Aveda Fredric's Institute and immediately realized what my career should be. After the intense 10 month program, I was recruited to work for the renowned Van Michael Salon in Atlanta, Georgia. I thrived in the busy company, where I worked my way up the ranks and developed a loyal client base. I became a color educator for the in-house training program. I also shared my skills with the popular show team. After seven successful years at Van Michael Salon, I realized that it was time to recapture my early dreams of living in New York. At the same time, I wanted to take my passion for Aveda and education to the next level.

Favorite music	My favorite bands right now are The Shins, Modest Mouse, Beck, Portishead, The Killers. Also, I enjoy classical composers in general but especially Bach.
