| Introduction | Hello, and welcome to It's Elementary...School Counseling! My name is Amber and I am a practicing elementary school counselor. I moved from my home state of New Mexico, to the Austin, TX area in 2015. This is my eighth year counseling, and I am one of those people who actually LOVES to come to work every day (I know, right?!) My background is in psychology, as well as play therapy, CBT, and school counseling. I love children and if I were able, I would have a household full of kids! I have two sons, ages 7 and 8,, and they are my life's purpose and my blessings. The rest of my children are the ones I work with everyday at school! I also have a canine companion, Franny. She is a pug and she comes with me to school most days, to encourage our kids and to help me teach counseling lessons. I consider myself very blessed to be where I am today; I have an amazing team of people who I have the privilege of working with every day, as well as boatloads of lovely little kiddos to put a smile on my face and some pep in my step! |

| Favorite books | I can't choose a favorite, I love all books but for children's books I really like "The Giving Tree," even though it makes me cry when I read it. |
