Introduction Everyone always told her she was different, which she accepted with the kind of tentative ‘thank you’ one gives when they are not sure they have been complimented. ‘Everyone’s different,’ she’d think. She always thought. Nothing could ever just be. Every face, gesture, outfit was fodder for analysis. An offhanded, ‘hello’ could be a ‘you’re too needy and I like brunettes anyway’ by the time it crept back into the forgotten places of her subconscious. While this habit was quite annoying and time consuming, it did aid in curing her of the silly infatuations to which she had become accustomed around the age of four. This girl dislikes the cliché of the term ‘perfectionist,’ but is not so deluded as to deny being one. Lately, she seems to have lost the eloquence of social facades, and finds herself wanting to tell everyone how much she loves them.
