| Introduction | I'm a professor; a media historian; author of six books and many articles; a mentor; researcher; and public speaker. I've been a radio consultant, radio disc jockey and music director. I'm best known for having discovered the rock band Rush (who dedicated two albums to me). I have also been a free-lance reporter for several newspapers and magazines. In my spare time, I love to read, I follow news and politics very closely, and I'm also a stamp collector. In addition, I enjoy doing volunteer work: I have been a Big Sister; and for four decades, I have served as the advocate for an adult with autism. |
