| Introduction | I was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina on July 16th 1977. My family and I moved to Mar del Plata a few years later and I did my schooling and undergraduate studies there. I earned a BA/Hons degree in English Language Teaching from Universidad Nacional de Mar del Plata in May 2001. In December 2001, I left Argentina and have since lived and worked in Costa Rica, the USA, Austria, Poland and Australia. My travels have mostly been motivated by further study. I completed an MA in Hispanic Linguistics at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (USA) in May 2004 and finished my PhD in Linguistics at the University of Melbourne (Australia) in July 2009. I am currently Assistant Professor of Linguistics at The University of Western Australia (in Perth, Western Australia). My academic interests include morpho-syntax and semantics of verbal expression, sociolinguistics, social bilingualism, and first and second language acquisition. |
