| Introduction | For many years I illustrated for advertising and children's books. After three decades of following art direction and meeting deadlines, I began painting and enjoying the privilege of working at my own pace and choosing my own subjects. Because of my background, I began as a realist, but I admire and am working toward more painterly impressionism. In 2018 I wrote my first children's book and was suddenly back in the illustration business.
