| Introduction | I was born and raised in Moscow, Russia, in a family of "generational artists" and "generational lawyers". I first studied art under my Grandfather Pavel Shiltov, without even realizing it - I was just doing what I loved to do together with him. I always painted, made drawings and prints. I received my traditional formal art training under Vadim Stepanov and later at the Moscow Art Academy. I was trully lucky to get a solid academic training as it proved to be an excellent base for any concept I ever needed to explore. I continued my art training in the US. During and after graduate school I participated in numerous national juried and invitational exhibits. Recently I slowed down a bit, but did not give up - it is impossible for me not to paint. |
