IntroductionI'm a temp filing clerk who knows my way around a law library, a transit driver who writes encyclopedia articles, a wanderer on the earth who is reluctantly settling down in the midwest, with family roots in Tennessee, Pennsylvania and Connecticut. I believe the federal constitution means what it says, not what someone thinks it ought to mean (thank you Justice Scalia), and that its principles must be applied anew to situations the Framers never dreamed of (thank you Justice Brennan). I am a political independent who generally votes Democratic; I know there are many honorable, capable, intelligent Republicans, but unfortunately they are not the ones running for office. I'm not satisfied with either party, but a third party that fits my views has yet to make an appearance.
