| Introduction | I am passionate about engaging students in their learning, finding fun and unique ways to teach a subject, and integrating visual and performing arts in everyday instruction. I believe that music, theater, dance and art are excellent ways to enrich lessons in all subject areas, and that these activities reinforce new knowledge in memorable ways. I have a love of elementary mathematics, and have taken two courses in the "new math" curriculum. I believe these new methods help children more fully understand why math works, and better prepare them for mathematical application in the world. |

When you open your eyes underwater, do you ever worry that you'll drown?
Well actually... I used to dream that I was underwater. It caused me to hold my breath while sleeping and wake up gasping. So I taught myself to breathe underwater... I'm quite positive that is a skill that will transfer well to my waking hours.
