| Introduction | I am a compassionate human being, first and foremost. I am also a musician, singer/songwriter. I am not a professional therapist, a clinical psychologist, or anything else “official” in that field. I am a very concerned citizen who wants to do his part to help bring about definitive change. One of the issues, as a gay man, that I’ve always attempted to raise awareness to is gay teen suicide. I’ve written about it a number of my songs and will undoubtedly continue to. However, recent events have made me painfully aware that writing songs about it is not nearly enough. So, I’ve gotten more deeply involved by blogging about it and by assisting in a suicide prevention page on one of the social networks. If that’s not enough, I’ll do more. Whatever it takes to reverse this alarming trend. |
