Favorite booksI still love the Russians and all the rich detail they provide-- Dostoevsky (Crime and Punishment/The Brothers Karamazov), Tolstoy (War and Peace, Anna Karenina). Other books that affected me at some point in life; Naked Lunch, Great Gatsby, Tropic of Cancer, Sun Also Rises, and of course, On The Road, Catcher in the Rye, Shantaram and anything by Cormac McCarthy. As of late, I have been enjoying a renewed relationship with Bukowski, Miller, Hemingway and Salinger. Old school, baby! (And a wee bit of Victorian gothic fiction -- Poe, Shelley et al).
