Introduction | My friends call me the "grammar goddess." Really. ;-) I own a freelance writing, editing and tutoring business. Previously, I served three years as food editor for The Morning Sun in Mt. Pleasant, which kindled my interest in food writing. My other areas of expertise in writing include features, community news, architecture/construction and engraving/personalization. I have a frightening number of cookbooks and watch too many DIY, HGTV, Food Network, Cooking Channel and Antiques Roadshow (BBC and PBS versions) shows. And I tweak nearly every recipe I make. |
Favorite Movies | Better off Dead, 2005 version of Pride and Prejudice, America's Sweethearts, Foul Play and Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. |
Favorite Music | Rick Springfield, Faith Hill, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Van Halen (5150), Heart, Meredith Brooks, Debussy, Chopin, Beethoven, Rodgers and Hammerstein, Barry Manilow, Anne Murray, Def Leppard and, well, a variety. I don't care much for rap or grunge rock with a few exceptions. |
Favorite Books | Pride and Prejudice, Tao of Pooh, The Secret Garden, Little Women, Georgette Heyer (nearly any of her Regencies), Agatha Christie, Joan Wolf, Bruce Alexander, Jan Karon and many more. |
