| Introduction | I have been grooming now since 2003, I got in to the profession on a whim. I always knew that I would end up working with animals. I just never knew what that was going to look like. Right after high school I went to my local two year university. I was hoping to get in to the veterinary field but really didn't have it in my heart. I choose it mostly because that's what you pick when you want to work with animals. Two years in and I was starting to get burnt out, so I decided to take some time off to figure out what I really wanted to do with my life. My mother suggested pet grooming to me, I didn't know anything about it and decided to research how one becomes a groomer. I found a school about and hour and half away from me. That seemed nice but I also needed a job, so I looked in to my local corporate pet store and found out they did on the job training. I applied to be a bather and that is where my career in pet grooming started. It was just a job when I started. Nine years latter, I am still grooming, it has turned in to my career and I cant imagine doing anything else. I started this blog to help out groomers and anyone interested in the grooming industry. |
