Introduction I'm 38 years old and working on becoming a fit, happy, and strong woman. I am in this for life.

This blog is the documentation of my journey from being 350 pounds of tired, unhealthy, and frustrated flesh into something completely different.

I don't subscribe to a particular diet, except to include more fruits, vegetables, lean meats, fish, etc. into my meals, and to eat less than I had been. I have no forbidden foods, I don't use the word "cheat" and I don't fret about weight fluctuation. I've become more active and completed the Couch to 5K running program, with the goal of someday running a marathon (hopefully for my 40th birthday!).

My motto is, "Slow and steady wins!" When I first started I had hoped to lose 10 pounds a month, but when I realized how silly it was not to celebrate any loss I saw, whether it was 10 pounds, 5 pounds, or even 1 pound, I nixed that. Now, I have an overall general goal to lose 150-200 pounds, but I don't have a deadline. I just keep chugging along and enjoying the changes I've made in my life. It's not about the numbers on the scale quite so much anymore.
