IntroductionIt started in Amsterdam...with salad dressing. Yaël’s aunt taught her how to make a homemade salad dressing using fresh herbs, tart lemon and rich olive oil. The simplicity of that recipe heightened her awareness of using fresh ingredients, deepened her interest in cooking and creating lasting food memories. Born in the South of France where the Camembert is runny and the baguettes are irresistibly crisp, Yaël grew up in a home of diverse food traditions thanks to her North African father, New York mother and the locals who cooked farm-to-table before it was in vogue. Yaël’s family relocated to Texas when she was a young child and she quickly developed an affinity for jalapeños, chips and queso, and BBQ. A local foodie with international flare, Yaël's blog, Recipes for Change, features diverse recipes from the women who make them for the people they love. When she is not sharing meals and laughter with friends and family, she is busy encouraging her husband’s obsession with smoking meats, raising two active kids and running a business that helps mission driven organizations and campaigns visualize and achieve their goals.
