| Introduction | Aliyah is a graduate of the Columbia University/Jewish Theological Seminary Joint Program, where she majored in Science and Religion, and Jewish Ethics respectively. She is very excited to volunteer with the American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee in Minsk, Belarus. This program has sometimes been likened to The Peace Corps (but Jewish). A serious Israelophile, Aliyah plans to make Aliyah after she spends the year in Minsk with the JDC. Some of Aliyah's favorite things include Israeli music festivals, spicy food, traveling, celebrating Jewish holidays, laughing with good friends, pickles, increasing her vocabulary (exponentially!), the Bedouin Shuk in Beer Sheva, and lastly, using the skills that she's been blessed with to try to do the most good possible. (aw...) Aliyah does not yet like kasha but hopes that she will, one year from now! |
