IntroductionFor years I have been a magpie when it comes to textiles, often buying a meter or so of fabric that I’ve fallen in love with. I knew at some point I could make myself a new dress or soft furnishing from it. It was my little addiction, I have a cupboard full to prove it! I also adored the 50’s glamour with exquisite figure enhancing dresses. As a result, 3 years ago, I took control of my work dreams & turned them into reality, gaining a degree in contemporary textile. I am adept at drawing my own dress patterns that cut the most flattering fit for the wearer, incorporating corsetry where appropriate to add structure & support. I often use CAD, either to laser cut detailing or to manipulate my artwork in order to produce digital prints. These designs can then be printed onto many types of fabrics to create a truly unique garment. I make my own felt from natural materials to ensure the correct tones for each piece and often incorporate embroidery, leatherwork & beads to bring depth and surface texture to my work. My main commissions are made to measure dresses using either a client’s own fabric or 1 of my designs. Alteration work is also available as are matching accessories.
