About me

Introduction I hate writing these sort of things, so I’ll keep it brief. My first U’s match was a friendly against Luton in 1991 – I can’t remember the score was but we won, much to the chagrin of my cousin, who is a Hatters fan. My first proper game was against Charlton later that year, with United winning 1-0 thanks to a Tony Dennis goal. Dennis subsequently became my first footballing hero, and has since been joined on the favourite players list by Steve Butler, Martin Butler, Lionel Perez, Terry Fleming, and Dave Kitson. My two favourite ever matches both took place at Griffin Park; the first was in 2001 when we got two goals back in the last five minutes to sneak a draw – the atmosphere that night was amazing. Then there is the LDV game in the rain in 2003 with Omer Riza’s golden goal winner, I don’t think my trainers ever recovered. Happy days. When not rambling inanely in this blog, I write for the worlds greatest local newspaper, The Royston Crow. My star sign is Aeries, and my favourite flavour of crisps is Worcester Sauce.
