Introduction	I'm a PhD candidate in the Department of Studies in Religion, University of Sydney. My thesis is concerned with the reasons people engage with, or in, spiritual activities when they travel, and the meaning(s) they derive from those experiences. The two locations I have chosen to explore this are India (Rishikesh and Dharamsala, Feb-Mar 2007) and the Camino de Santiago de Compostela through France and Spain (Sep-Nov 2007). In July 2007 I was awarded the Royston George Booker Scholarship to assist with the project. This blog is about my experience both as a traveller and as a researcher as I visit these places and interview people. Mostly I hope that what is written here can be of use to some readers, for whatever reasons.
