Introduction	The Shenandoah Valley's soft blue mountains beckon me. Whether I'm elbow-deep in clay with glistening fingers forming vessels on a wheel or savoring the thunder of Japanese fire drummers in the odeon of Herodes Atticus or translating Latin or Greek odes and plays until three in the morning or scampering along hiking trails of Skyline Drive or getting that just-right shot of freshly fallen snow or a butterfly sipping nectar from a flower - it matters not. The mountain is a sweet spring for me that wells up inspiration in pools from which I dip. And so, I tap into my creative outlets - cooking and baking, writing and painting and smoothing clay, building with blocks and on large paper drawing towns along whose roads my sons push their matchbox cars from place to place - all to keep life balanced. And I thank God for my Rustle, my boys, my JennyPooh, and the myriad smiles he puts in my life via the friends that I know.
