| Introduction | Hello. Welcome to my blog. I am a pastellist at heart, but I am also exploring colored pencils with pastels to provide minute detail when the need for it arises. I love painting the beauty of nature in Arizona. The brilliant landscapes varying from stark to lush depending on the location and the season provide endless fascination for me. My favorite subjects are our furred and feathered friends. The moment I see their eyes looking into mine, the painting becomes real and the subject comes to life. I started painting when I came to Green Valley, AZ eight years ago and began taking workshops, classes and private lessons in drawing, pastel and colored pencil. I paint weekly with pastel and colored pencil artists and their shared expertise is of great value to me. I am always experimenting with various techniques and surfaces. Often pleasant surprises evolve through these efforts. Other times the word "OOPS" comes to mind, but it is always a positive learning experience and I enjoy the process. I love art. It has become a way of life and includes many interesting and diverse friends,who have opened new worlds for me. Thank you for visiting with me today. |
