| Introduction | Hi, I'm Sandie. After a career in Insurance in the City of London, I developed an interest in card-making after watching Blue Peter when my son was born. We began Mad about Cards in 2002 after realising there was more of an appetite for craft supplies than completed cards. In my running Mad about Cards I began messing around with a graphics programme and started designing backgrounds and embellishments for cards. Printable Heaven was launched in 2008 as a dedicated download site which enabled us to sell products all around the world. In late 2009 I was clearing out my step-father's flat when I found a tatty old book that contained loads of stunning pictures. I wanted very much to frame some for the wall but hated the idea of breaking up the book - and somehow this led to me looking up the pictures on the internet and stumbling into the world of Public Domain..... The rest is history as they say. I now make card-making products using images from a variety of sources - public domain book illustrations, posters and art together with graphics that I create myself. And I love it! I don't have enough hours in the day to keep up with all the ideas in my head! |
