| Introduction | I am an Associate Professor of English at the University of Massachusetts Lowell. My research specialties include the Victorian novel, Charles Dickens, the literature of immigration, and creative non-fiction writing. I traveled to Peru in January of 2008 with several students and faculty from my university on a service-learning trip, during my year of sabbatical leave.
