| Introduction | I am a father of three children, and have been married to Carol for 32 years. Governance and delivering outstand governing bodies has been my passion for now some 15 years. I am Chair at Cornfield Special School Littlehampton and Storrington First School. At Storrington I have not only been instrumental in moving the school out of requiring substantial support, but also responsible for restructuring the Governing Body to enable it to be a force for change. In the last Ofsted the governing body was judged as outstanding. At Cornfield I have been responsible from reconstructing the Governing Body into an effective unit delivering robust governance. I am one of nine people is West Sussex to have been awarded a ‘BTEC Advanced Certificate in Governance’ and to have completed ‘Taking the Chair’ course. I am also a trained Chairs Monitor. Being an Executive Committee Member of the West Sussex Governors Association gives me a strong foundation for delivering excellent, effective and robust Governance. My other roles include being a member of the Schools Forum and working with School Leadership Systems putting Governing Body Virtual Offices in place. |
