About me

Introduction I am a recent graduate of the Boston University Genealogical Research Certificate Program (May 2020). I was born in New England, went to school in New Hampshire and New York and now live in Maryland. I have a BS and MS in physics and astronomy and a MLIS in Library and Information Science. I got interested in family history in high school when my mother showed me a photostat copy of a Bible page with names I recognized (ROGERS and LACEY), but others I had not. She told me stories of her summers in Delaware and that she was of old New England stock. I have taken several DNA tests with different organizations and I am interested in ancient migrations: My mtDNA is U5b1c2b and my y-DNA is R-L260. I can be contacted at grmajor@gmail.com.
Interests Interested in Delaware (LACEY/LACY, ROGERS), New York (ROGERS, CLARK, MOREHOUSE, SCUDDER, VINCENT) and Massachusetts (CLARK, WEEKS, ADAMS, FULLER), and Connecticut (DENISION, STANTON, MOREHOUSE), among many others. I also have Irish roots (McDONAGH/McDONOUGH, DORIS/DOORIS, BRADY, McGLYNN), and Hungary (MAJOR, GAVAY).
