| Introduction | The Western Sahara conflict has entered its endgame. After more than 30 years of invasion, occupation, brutality, and obstruction, Morocco has failed to convince even one country to officially recognize its land-grab. With their rejection of the Baker II Plan in 2003 and decision to take the possibility of independence off the table, Rabat has unilaterally ended the diplomatic phase of the conflict. Their new tactic to legitimize the occupation in the eyes of the world community has been to demonize the Polisario with a far-reaching public relations campaign of propaganda, misinformation, innuendo, and lies. In the war of ideas and facts about the Western Sahara, Morocco’s smear campaign cannot be allowed to go unanswered. This blog is my small contribution to this effort to set the record straight. |
