| Introduction | To this point in my life I have not been a big social networker - no Facebook or Twitter, and I like to read good ol' fashioned newspapers (I revel in the thumb-smeared newsprint). Then why a blog you ask (maybe you didn't ask, but I need to take some liberties to move this thing along!). Well...I'm in my L-A-T-E 40's, and in 2011 had some surgery which put me on the DL (the "Disabled List" for the uninitiated) for a couple months. I had become increasingly interested in investing, and found I could only watch so much Golf Channel and Days of Our Lives (who knew Kristian Alfonso was still on the show...but I digress). So, I started to do some research in earnest (or at least half-heartedly). I was not a complete novice in the area, having been a securities lawyer for about a half dozen years, then moving in-house with an asset management firm for another half dozen (since departed). I left no stone (or TV remote) unturned in my search for the best strategy, but I kept coming back to dividend investing as making the most sense. Presto - a dividend investor was born... |
