| Introduction | Tyson Maughan was born in Northern San Diego County, California. He grew up in a large family with a father that was highly artistic. With the help of Tyson's mother they both paved the way in inspiring Tyson's creativity. After high school he enrolled into a photo class at a local J.C. to gain some extra elective credits; after two classes he dropped out because he felt the class took time away from shooting pictures. The next 4 weeks would really spark his interest for still photography. After working as a very talented massage therapist in a number of well known health spas in the Napa Valley, he finally accepted the fact that he was a born artist and went on to pursue a career in motion pictures. In 2003 he attended the Academy of Art University in San Francisco to study cinematography. Even though he can give a mean shiatsu, his primary hobby is taking still photographs. On the rare day he isn't taking care of his daughter, he enjoys finding new people and places to add to his always growing collection of photographs.
