| Introduction | ...I'm starting my senior year, technically at UNH Durham, at Regents American College in London. I was sitting at the bus stop outside the Whit one chilly day in February. I don't normally hang out at bus stops, but I needed to go grocery shopping and it was way too far to walk to my car in the snow. So I'm sitting…and waiting, entertaining myself with my favorite hobby, which is People Watching. Now, every winter when I'm walking through the wind tunnel that is Main Street in Durham, I ask myself "Why?! WHY am I walking through the snow? I could have gone to school some place warm, but I'm trudging through snow banks. FML." ...So I'm sitting at the bus stop and I see a guy walk past who just got back from a semester in Italy, and I thought "Hey, I want to go somewhere too!" So I got to thinking and thought I should go somewhere where they speak English. So I thought a little more and decided that I should either go to Australia or London, London sounded much better. So I whipped out my cell phone, and with frozen, numb fingers I texted "Hey mom!! I'm going to London in the fall!" This decision making process lasted about two minutes. |
